Pete Von Bank, Co-Founder

Von Hanson’s started in 1983 when Pete Von Bank and Dick Hanson, came up with the idea to bring back the old fashioned meat market to the local neighborhood. Their belief was simple: offer high quality meat products to the customer, promising them the best value for their money. This would be accomplished without pre-packaging, making every order a “custom” order with great old-fashioned customer service. Von Hanson’s commitment to quality meats and friendly service has been the foundation of the business since the first store opened in Apple Valley, MN.

Quality products and attention to what customers want and need have served Von Hanson’s well. For example, Von Hanson’s introduced deli products, seasonal fresh produce, bakery and frozen food items to add an even larger selection of quality valued products to the customer.

As the popularity of the local store grew, a decision was made to establish additional Von Hanson locations. Even with the addition of new locations, customers are confident that no matter what they purchase from any Von Hanson’s location, it will be fresh, perfectly aged and delicious. Customers appreciate the friendly attention they receive from the Von Hanson’s staff. Attention to the customer, complete knowledge of the product, expert meat cutting and filling orders to complete satisfaction is what Von Hanson’s is all about.

Today, Von Hanson’s has expanded to many local neighborhoods throughout the Twin City area. Each location is locally managed, with each owner working in the store as an added emphasis on commitment to the customer. Hiring local people to preserve the neighborhood feel of each store, Von Hanson’s considers its employees to be one of its greatest assets; they all work hard to make customer service No.1 every day!
